Mitigation strategy

Mandate Cognitive and Cultural Diversity in AI Governance and Development Require the formation of cross-functional AI development and governance committees to include expertise from social science, cultural psychology, and domain-specific community representatives, thereby institutionalizing the consideration of non-Western and diverse user explanatory needs, values, and social norms from the initial problem definition stage. 2. Implement Continuous Cross-Cultural Data Governance and Contextual Fairness Auditing Establish a rigorous, continuous data validation and auditing pipeline to actively identify and mitigate cultural, linguistic, and geographic biases within training datasets, specifically targeting the underrepresentation of non-Western regions, languages, and diverse skin/demographic types to prevent the systemic reinforcement of Western centrality. 3. Establish Sector-Specific Ethical and Community Oversight Mechanisms Deploy external and independent audit mechanisms, alongside dedicated community engagement platforms, to conduct real-world impact assessments on deployed AI systems. These mechanisms must specifically evaluate the system's propensity for promoting cultural or intellectual homogenization, or for reinforcing power centralization through the inequitable distribution of AI benefits.
